A youth workshop
As part of a programme of special workshops running across the palaces in 2008 based around the theme of feasts and celebrations, young people worked with a performance artist in a workshop inspired by masques. Masques were 17th century entertainments - a sort of cross between balls and interactive theatre - and were held at the Banqueting House until the magnificent Rubens ceiling was installed.
Young people learnt about masques and created their own performance in the Main Hall inspired by dance, history and modern day celebrities.
