AÂ unique occasion
In the summer of 2008 four London boroughs came together for a unique occasion - what is believed to have been the UK's first multi-borough citizenship ceremony. Tower Hamlets, Richmond, Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster came together as the four boroughs in which Historic Royal Palaces has sites, and gave ten people from each the opportunity to become citizens together, and in so doing mark the 10th anniversary of our Historic Royal Palace's existence as a charity.
It was a great opportunity for people to come together in a building which is central to British history, and share a life changing moment as they became British citizens.
