Silver Sunday

Silver Sunday saw older people from across the local community come together to learn more about the Banqueting House.

A special event

On Sunday the 7th of October 2012, a new event was inaugurated - 'Silver Sunday'. This event was initiated by Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea and Hammersmith & Fulham Councils, as a day for celebrating the contribution of older people to local life. It is hoped that in future this will grow to become a national event.

As part of Silver Sunday, many different organisations put on events for people to attend, and at the Banqueting House we organised refreshments and a historical talk about the building.

Over 100 people attended this event, and enjoyed learning more about somewhere that they had seen, but in many cases had never been inside.

We were delighted to be part of this event. You can find out more about Silver Sunday here.
