The arrival of George I
18 – 21 April
Hampton Court Palace
Join the crowds as Great Britain’s new king, George I, arrives to visit his palace by magnificent barge. His red coat soldiers, the white horses of his native Hanover, military displays and festivities combine to make the arrival truly glorious.


The Glorious Georgian Sleepover
2 May, 18.30 – overnight
Hampton Court Palace
A rare chance to spend the night in the palace. As George I settles down for the night, his troubled family have other ideas… Tickets: £100. 


Jellymania
31 May – 1 June
Kew Palace
Celebrate Queen Charlotte’s birthday with lots of jelly fun! The Georgians loved jelly and food historian Annie Gray will be at Kew to reveal some of the extraordinary and fun things they used to get up to with jelly.

BBC Good Food Festival

Experience live demonstrations from top TV chefs and discover delicacies from hundreds of the UK’s finest producers. Explore Georgian cookery with our Hampton Court experts as we cook up food fit for a king. 


Handel’s Fireworks Music and illuminations
14 September, 19.30 – 21.30 (gates open 18.30)
Hampton Court Palace
Arcangelo’s 30-piece orchestra play a repertoire of Handel’s music, culminating in his 'Fireworks Music' with fireworks inspired by royal Georgian displays. Tickets: £35, £20 concessions.
