The arrival of George I
18 – 21 April
Hampton Court Palace
Join the crowds as Great Britain’s new king, George I, arrives to visit his palace by magnificent barge. His red coat soldiers, the white horses of his native Hanover, military displays and festivities combine to make the arrival truly glorious.


Georgian family days
Go Georgetastic at Kew (5 April), Kensington (15 June) and Hampton Court (9 August) with our brand new, whole day family experiences! Become a Georgian for the day as you step back in time to experience Georgian life through music, art, drama and storytelling.


The Glorious Georgian Sleepover
2 May, 18.30 – overnight
Hampton Court Palace
A rare chance to spend the night in the palace. As George I settles down for the night, his troubled family have other ideas… Tickets: £100.

31 May – 1 June
Kew Palace
Celebrate Queen Charlotte’s birthday with lots of jelly fun! The Georgians loved jelly and food historian Annie Gray will be at Kew to reveal some of the extraordinary and fun things they used to get up to with jelly.


The Kew snooze - Georgian sleepover
6 June, 18.30 – overnight
Kew Palace
The popular Kew Palace children’s sleepover is back! Join in the celebrations for George III’s birthday with dancing, food and lessons in etiquette before settling down to stay overnight at the palace. Tickets: £55, breakfast included.

Discover the joys of Georgian food (Hampton Court, 14 June), and the wonders of Georgian science (Kew, 2 August), in these light-hearted introductory talks on the theme; from tea drinking to chocolate kitchens to exotic fruit, and George III’s microscope to a female 18th-century astronomer.

Handel’s Fireworks Music and illuminations
14 September, 19.30 – 21.30 (gates open 18.30)
Hampton Court Palace
