Tiny Explorers: Handel’s Water Music

Wednesday 29 October, 11.00, 14.00 and 15.00 (duration 30 mins)

Be transported on a musical story adventure down the Thames in this sensory session for under 5s. Your little one will play, explore and create music as you discover the story of King George I’s favourite composer, Fredrick Handel, and his Water Music.

Calling Doctor Doctor! - half term activities

25 October to 2 November, available all day.

King George I needs your help! It will be your mission to join the best medical minds of the age to make sure that the king is kept in the peak of health so that he may continue to be a powerful ruler. Interact with costumed interpreters and make new discoveries as you take on the challenge of being a royal physician.

Free with admission ticket. Pick up activities in the Information Centre.

Draw and tell digital workshops

28-30 October, 10.30 – 13.00 and 14.00 – 16.30, drop-in.

This is your chance to create your own digital story inspired by past residents of the palace! You’ll start with a pencil and paper and then bring your creation to life on an ipad to make your very own story.

Free with admission ticket. 

A Merry Tudor Christmas - family workshop

29 November, 10.30-13.00 and 14.00 - 16.30.

Get ready for Christmas in Tudor style. Help the palace servants prepare for King Henry VIII's extravagant feasts and revels, through a range of storytelling, music and craft workshops. For children aged 7-11.

Up to two adults per child can participate in the workshop. Adults should ensure that they accompany their children at all times and that children are not left unattended. Family groups of any size are welcome however we do not allow adults or children to attend on their own.

Lunch and drinks will not be provided. Participants may bring their own packed lunch to eat in the picnic areas. Alternatively, the Tiltyard Cafe is located a short walk away which serves lunch and hot and cold snacks and drinks.

Please note: Workshops are held in education areas and don’t include general admission to the palace. If visitors wish to visit the palace a separate ticket must be purchased.

Packed with fun quizzes, activities, facts and illustrations, our free family trails are the perfect way to explore Hampton Court Palace as a family. Hard copies are available at the palace's Information Centre after you have purchased your tickets. When you've completed one, bring it back for a prize!
