Henry in the Great Hall

There is much more to Hampton Court Palace than just history.

We have produced lesson plans and resources which cover maths, science, art and PSHE at Key stage 2 level - all of which can be completed without a visit to the palace.

Maths

Explore the beautiful examples of symmetry at Hampton Court Palace whilst also learning about shape and tessellation. Aimed at Year 3.

Art

Be inspired by patterns at the palace to produce new wall paper designs using one and two colour printing techniques. Aimed at Year 3.

Science

Fun and interesting ways to teach keeping healthy, materials and micro-organisms using Henry VIII's kitchens. Aimed at Year 6.

PSHE

The fascinating topic of jesters at Henry VIII's court provides the basis of these lessons which teach developing good relationships and respecting the differences between people. Adoptable to any Key Stage 2 year group.
