Answers to some of our visitors' frequently asked questions
The Maze at Hampton Court Palace

Can I bring my dog with me?

Only service, assistance or guide dogs are allowed inside Hampton Court Palace, in the Maze and in the formal gardens. Please note that there are no facilities for dogs to be left while their owners visit the palace.
However, you are very welcome to walk your dog in those areas of the palace gardens that do not require an entrance ticket, and in Home Park. Please keep your dog on a lead, stick to the paths and remove any dog litter.

Am I allowed to take photographs?

Photography (including with a tripod as long as it doesn’t restrict the access of other visitors) and videoing is welcomed within the courtyards of the palace, the gardens and the Tudor Kitchens but is not permitted elsewhere inside the building to protect crown copyright.

Can I use my mobile phone inside the palace?

The use of mobile telephones is prohibited within the confines of the buildings.

Is there anywhere I can leave heavy bags while I tour the palace?

Hampton Court Palace does not have any left luggage facilities available.  However large bags or suitcases may be left at your own risk in the Warders Office by the West Gate.  Please speak to the Warders when you present your ticket if you would like to use this facility.  This facility may be withdrawn without notice.

Can I stay overnight at the palace?

There are two self-catering apartments at the palace available to visitors for hire. Fish Court sleeps up to 6 people and the Georgian House sleeps up to 8 people.
