Tennis

Tennis was played on this site since 1528 when the Henry VIII comissioned the first Real Tennis court. As a young, handsome, athletic man Henry was passionately addicted to sport, and particularly to tennis. Legend has it that he heard of the execution of Queen Anne Boleyn as he played tennis at Hampton Court Palace.

You too can play tennis where Henry once did, to find out about the Royal Tennis Court at Hampton Court Palace please visit
