Welcome to Henry VIII’s palace.
King Henry VIII, unhappily married and worried about the succession, thinks he has found the lady to make him happy again. But the path of true love is not running smoothly...

Come and find out for yourself!

All activities are costumed live interpretations unless otherwise stated.


11.00am - A Royal Romance. Meet in Base Court. 
The King is in love, but the lady has a mind of her own. Can you predict how things will work out?

12.30pm - The King's Gift. Meet in Base Court.
Will a present put things right, or cause more trouble?

2.00pm - Henry's Dilemma. Chapel Court.
The King has an important decision to make.

3.30pm - The King in Council. Meet in Base Court.
The King's Privy Council are going to change the course of history, but will the lady play her part? Your help could make all the difference.

Henry's Crown:
Henry VIII's Crown is on display in the Royal Pew 10.00am-5.30pm (12.30pm-1.30pm on Sundays). No photography please.

Mantegna's Triumphs of Caesar:
Gallery open daily, 10.30am-1.00pm and 2.00pm-5.00pm.

Henry’s wardrobe: Ensure that you are dressed suitably for court. Velvet cloaks in all sizes are available in the Wardrobe in the Information Centre (subject to availability).

Henry's feast: Join Henry's team of cooks as they prepare sixteenth century food in Henry VIII's Kitchens using authentic Tudor methods. Selected weekends - click here for the dates.

Family trails: Our free family trails are the perfect way to explore the palace as a family. Available from the Information Centre.

Secrets of the Royal Bedchamber: Exhibition open daily 10.00am-5.15pm. No photography please.
