A little history of the space…

The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers was founded in 1685 by James II to protect the royal guns kept within the Tower.

The Fusiliers were the first regiment to be armed with an improved musket, a fusil, which gave them their name.

The building housing the regiment's museum and headquarters was constructed in the mid-19th century as the Officers' Mess.
