The gardens at Kensington Palace

Introduction

Join one of our award-winning* volunteer-led Garden History Tours and learn about the recent transformation of the palace gardens, its diverse history and the significance of the setting of Kensington Palace and its location within the parks.

These FREE tours include exclusive entry into the majestic Baroque inspired Sunken Garden, which is normally closed to the public and will give you the chance to see the see the iconic Golden Gates and find out who created the magnificent statue of Queen Victoria and which king or queen kept wild animals in the palace grounds.

* The volunteers won the Highly Commended award in Bringing Innovations at the London Volunteers in Museum Awards 2012

Tours are held every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 12:00 – 13:00 and 14:00 – 15:00.

If you would like to join one of these special tours, please sign up in White Court or at the Queen's Entrance on the date of your visit. No palace entry ticket required.

Subject to availability; sign up is operated on a first come, first served basis. There is a capacity of 20 people per tour.

Please note that the tours may on occasion be cancelled due to extreme weather conditions.
