Kensington Palace is closed from 4 January to 25 March 2012 inclusive. The newly-transformed palace will re-open on 26 March 2012, with four new routes to explore including a permanent exhibition called Victoria Revealed, re-interpreted King's Apartments and Queen's Apartments, a temporary exhibition with dresses of Diana, Princess of Wales, and from 24 May until 31 October a temporary exhibition about the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria, called 'A view from the crowd'.
Room describer tours will be available of these routes after re-opening on 26 March 2012. We advise focusing on one or two areas of most interest, as trying to have a describer tour of the whole palace in one go would be too much for both the describer and the group! If you would like to arrange a room describer tour, please contact us requesting a particular date/s at least two weeks in advance and we will check availability. Our contact details are below. Tours are suitable for a maximum of three blind or partially sighted visitors and their carers and must be pre-booked.
There is no additional charge as this service is included in the admission price.
