Imagine the cheers, the excitement, dressed in your best clothes, desperately standing on your tiptoes to see the queen through the crowd!
There will be exciting new explorer bags available for families to pick up to help them journey through the exhibition. Each bag will have objects and activities relating to a different character from the crowd and the procession of 1897.
Summer half-term 2- 10 June
Capture the thrill of the 1897 jubilee celebration with our programme of activities. Children and their families will be able to help contribute to our own triumphal arch of flowers and garlands, create a piece of celebratory bunting and learn about early photography by making their own pin-hole cameras.

Let’s get ready to street party! For our spring adult education we will be running two workshops to tie in with the exhibition.
We have a bunting making workshop with artist Xtina Lamb and a cake decoration workshop with cake artist Rachel Mount. Our creative summer school will focus on exploring Victorian crafts and skills and will run for five days from 16 – 22 July 2012.
Workshops are to include topics such as historic photography, decoupage, embroidery and perfume making.
