In October 2011 we held our first citizenship ceremony at Kew Palace. Ten new citizens made their oaths and pledges to Queen and Country as they took the final step in becoming British nationals. It was a special occasion for all involved.
The ceremony took place in the Dining Room, where HM The Queen celebrated her 80th Birthday. The Deputy Mayor of Richmond welcomed the new citizens to the borough, whilst Michael Day, Chief Executive of Historic Royal Palaces, welcomed the citizens and their friends and family attending the ceremony to Kew Palace, and spoke about its role in royal history.
Congratulations to all of the new citizens!
