Children helping King George III at Kew Palace

Parents and children worked together to explore the story of George III and discover the things that he loved when he was at home at the palace.

About the project...

The palace as the king's home
Through an interactive game the families discovered the things George III loved while he was at home at the palace. The children met costumed characters of both George III and Dr Willis, his physician, and learned more about both the illness that affected the king’s reign and the people who were important to him.

And a series of activities encouraged the children to think about the similarities and differences between life as a king in the early 19th century and a young person living today.
