Conserving Historic Buildings

Masterclasses in  partnership with SPAB

Tudor 'swizzle stick' chimney pots

Following the success of the 2012 masterclasses the SPAB is delighted to continue in partnership with Historic Royal Palaces to run four masterclasses in 2013:

•  Repair of Gauged Arches, Hampton Court Palace (22 March)

•  NewStonework Repair, Tower of London (6 June)

•  NewMetalwork Conservation: Tijou Unravelled, Hampton Court Palace (12 September)

•  Repair of Cut and Rubbed Chimneys, Hampton Court Palace (31 October)

The masterclasses will be lead by experts in the field of historic building conservation, and delegates will gain experience of practical techniques by direct hands-on work.

Download a sample Programme from the last Brickwork Masterclass.  Please note that the Programme will be developed and updated for each masterclass.

Who are they for?

The masterclasses are likely to meet CPD requirements for those profesionally involved in historic buildings; including architects, surveyors, engineers, planners, builders, contractors and craftspeople.

"I enjoyed the course very much. It is very helpful to my learning and development as an Architect, as I now understand how something outlined on a computer is composed and repaired. Thank you."
