Tower family ticket offer

Early risers get all the fun

of the fortress!

This summer families arriving at the Tower of London between 9am and 10.30am Tuesdays to Saturdays can take advantage of fast track entry and new events for early risers

Press release

Everyone is conscious of making their money go further at the moment, so make sure your family gets the most out of your days out this summer with the Tower of London’s Family Ticket with its exclusive new benefits. From 26 July 2008 until 30 August 2008 families (up to 2 adults and 3 children) arriving at the Tower of London between 9am and 10.30am Tuesdays to Saturdays can purchase a Family Ticket so that they can speed their way in to the Tower using a dedicated Family Fast track ticket booth and enjoy new activities for all the family inside the fortress!

The special new summer 2008 events for early risers are:

• 10.00am Children’s Tour of the White Tower exploring the stories behind the armour of Henry VIII and the chance to get to grips with replica knights weapons in newly enhanced exhibition Hands on History

• 10.30am Meet the Ravenmaster A beefeater will introduce the Tower Ravens at the ravens' cages and tell the story of how these birds became so embroiled in myths and legends here at the Tower

During this summer families will also be able to get involved in the activities around our new theme of Fortress! Fire one of the full size working siege weapons in the moat; meet the metalwork garrison of six full sized steel soldiers that will be stationed at key defensive locations around the Tower; and explore the new interactive displays in locations around the Tower. There is also a seasonal offer for families this summer in the New Armouries Café within the Tower.

Also available are children’s trails and of course entry to everyone’s favourite bling collection, the Crown Jewels. And Mum and Dad don’t worry - the Jewel House wardens are primed for all those difficult questions, like ‘Are they really worth more than Cristiano Ronaldo?’!

Bring the family to the Tower early this summer to make sure that you enjoy even more value from your visit to the Tower of London.

Historic Royal Palaces is the independent charity that looks after the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, the Banqueting House, Kensington Palace and Kew Palace.  We help everyone explore the story of how monarchs and people have shaped society, in some of the greatest palaces ever built.

We receive no funding from the Government or the Crown, so we depend on the support of our visitors, members, donors, volunteers and sponsors.

These palaces are owned by The Queen on behalf of the nation, and we manage them for the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport.

We believe in four principles.  Guardianship: giving these palaces a future as long and valuable as their past. Discovery: encouraging people to make links with their own lives and today’s world.  Showmanship: doing everything with panache. Independence: having our own point of view and finding new ways to do our work.
