Independent charity Historic Royal Palaces will be marking this year’s royal wedding with a month of Tweets, videos and blog posts, revealing the stories, spectacles, scandals and (occasional) romances of centuries of royal weddings.
The fascinating stories will include:
• Which King was too drunk to walk down the aisle?
• Which Queen was responsible for popularising the white wedding dress?
• Which royal wedding ended in bloodshed?
Courtesy of Historic Royal Palaces’ curators, historians and experts, the public are invited to discover the dramatic transformation of royal weddings over time - and their influence on contemporary culture.
