Ticket information

How much does a ticket cost?
We offer Adult, Children under 16, Concession and Family tickets. Click here for current ticket prices and booking information.

What does my admission ticket cover?
Your admission covers all areas of the Tower, open normally.  There are dozens of famous and exciting sights at the Tower of London and access to the majority of these is included in your Tower admission ticket. Click here for more information about what to see and do at the Tower.

Does my admission include a Yeoman Warder tour?
Yes. Your admission includes a Yeoman Warder tour.  Yeoman Warder tours take place every half hour during the day. Guided tours cannot be pre-booked. Click here for more information on the Yeoman Warders.

How do I find out what will be on when I visit?
There are various exhibitions, activities, displays and events happening at the Tower throughout the year. Many are included in the price of your ticket. Do you accept my student ID?
We accept all valid student ID cards from anywhere in the world. Click here for current ticket prices and booking information.

How can I book admission tickets?
You can book tickets to the Tower of London online, by telephone or in person. Group bookings can also be made for groups of 15 or more people. Click here for more information and to make bookings.

I have a query with my online booking – help?

Can I book tickets in advance using my Tesco deal tokens/ATOC 2 for 1 offers?
These promotions can only be used to buy tickets on the day of your visit on site.  Tickets cannot be purchased through our website.  Separate terms and conditions apply.  Please check the relevant websites for more details. Tesco deal tokens cannot be used to purchase family tickets, as this is an already discounted ticket type.

The ATOC 2 for 1 offer is NOT available between Monday 15 July and Sunday 8 September 2013 inclusive.

Lost property

I’ve lost something at the Tower – what do I do?
If you lose something during your visit please contact the nearest member of staff. All lost property is held by the Pass Office for three days before being passed to Visitor Services. Alternatively, contact Visitor Services and we’ll do our best to try to reunite you with your property. Email: VisitorServices.TOL@hrp.org.uk

Food and drink

Can I buy food and drink at the Tower?
Yes. There are various restaurants and cafés at the Tower offering a wide range of refreshments, snacks and meals. Click here for more information.

Can we have a picnic at the Tower?
Yes. You can have a picnic at the Tower. Bring along your own picnic, or pick up a wide range of take away sandwiches and food from our cafes. Please note food and drink are not permitted within the confines of the buildings.

General enquiries

Can I take photographs?
You are welcome to take photographs or to video within most of the Tower but we regret that photography and filming are not permitted inside the Jewel House, the Martin Tower, the chapel of St John inside the White Tower or in the Chapel Royal of St Peter ad Vincula. Images of the Tower are available for sale from our Photographic Library. Can I use my mobile phone inside the Tower?
The use of mobile telephones is prohibited within the confines of the buildings.

Is there anywhere I can leave my heavy bags?
Please note the Tower of London does not have any left luggage facilities available.

Can I bring my dog with me?
Only service dogs are allowed inside the Tower of London. Please note there are no facilities for dogs to be left while visiting.

Is there anything I can't bring into the Tower when I visit?
Prohibited Articles

To prevent offensive weapons or dangerous articles from being taken into the Tower of London, visitors are admitted on condition that if requested to do so, they will allow themselves and/or their belongings to be searched.

It is prohibited to take into the Tower of London any weapons, including lock knives or knives with a blade in excess of 3inches (7,62cm), fireworks, smoke bombs or other any other articles (including CS, Pepper spray or any other incapacitant spray or any other article intended or designed to cause injury.  The throwing of any article which could cause injury or annoyance is strictly prohibited.

It is also prohibited to possess any article which cannot legally be possessed under UK laws.

Are members of the armed forces entitled to free entry?
Historic Royal Palaces is a registered charity and we are unable to offer free admission.  We do have a discounted entry price to the Tower for serving members of the armed forces, on production of a valid military ID card on the day of your visit.  The discount applies only to the card holder, not to other family members.

I would like to find out about the collections on display at the Tower. Who do I contact?
For general information about the collections at the Tower, browse the History and Stories and Conservation sections of our website. For enquiries relating to the history of the palaces and their collections, email curators@hrp.org.uk.

I think I’m related to someone who lived at the Tower – can you help?
Most records are held at the Public Record Office in Kew.  This should be your starting point as we do not hold any detailed information here at the Tower. Go to http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/ and follow the links to ‘Family History’.

I’m holding a fundraising event – can I get free tickets?
As Historic Royal Palaces is a charity, we receive no funding from the Government or the Crown, so we depend on the support of our visitors, members, donors, volunteers and sponsors.  We are unable to support other fundraising activities with complimentary tickets.
