Applications:
All entries to be received by 14 January 2008 at The White Tower, 'Hung, quartered and drawn', HM Tower of London, London, EC3N 4AB. The postmark will be deemed the date of submission.
A signed and completed entry form should be included with the entry which also constitutes an acceptance of the terms and conditions. Please click here to download an entry form.
Works must be 2-dimensional in format. Submissions (if a hard copy is submitted) should not be framed.
Pre-shortlist entries cannot be returned.
We would prefer submissions in the following forms in place of original works of art in the pre-shortlist phase of the competition:
i. A colour photograph of the work submitted for the prize. Minimum measurements 10 x 15 cm, maximum measurements 30 x 21cm (A4).
ii. A disc with a high resolution jpeg, colour method RGB, no bigger than an A4 page and a maximum of 1MB – please name files with artists name and age.
These forms of submission are preferred but hard copy will be accepted if photographic or jpeg entries are not possible.
If an entry form is incomplete or lacks one of the requested items, the applicant will not be eligible for the competition. Please click here to download an entry form.
If you require a delivery receipt for your entry, please send use Recorded Delivery. The Organisers cannot undertake to acknowledge safe receipt of submissions.
Entries are limited to one per person.
The selection:
The names of the artists whose work is selected for the shortlist will be available for view on the Historic Royal Palaces website by the beginning of February 2008.
Please note that only the artists selected for the shortlist will be contacted directly by the organisers.
Shortlisted applicants may be asked to submit the original works (which may be returned on request).
The winning applicant will be asked to provide the original work of art.
The shortlisted candidates will be responsible for:
• Safe delivery and insurance of original works if requested by the organisers
• Their travel expenses & costs of their stay in London for the unveilling
The Organisers will not be responsible for any loss of or damage to the works of art, however caused, be it fire, theft, negligence, vandalism, acts of terrorism, earthquake or any other.
