Further information
A British Sign Language interpreter is available from 10.30 to 16.30 each day.
The BSL interpreter will meet guests just inside the main entrance (West Gate) of the Tower at 10.30 and 14.00 after the ticket checking and bag search area. Please allow adequate time, particularly at holiday and busy times to enter the Tower. Suggested arrival time at main west gate entrance 10.15.
The BSL interpreter will be wearing a bright blue high visibility vest, with "BSL interpreter" on the back. They will wear a grey badge with the BSL symbol.
Itineraries can be tailored to individual or group needs.
BSL interpreters can follow the Tower's daily guided tours, any historical re-enactments as well as visit any other attractions within the Tower.
We advise consulting staff at Welcome Centre, located on Tower Hill about where to locate the BSL interpreter if you arrive later in the day. Alternatively other admissions staff and warders inside the Tower will assist in locating the interpreter.
For further information please consult our comprehensive access guide. Please click on the PDF file on the opposite side of this page. The guide includes detailed information, help, and advice for visitors with disabilities. For those with mobility requirements and wheelchair users, there is a colour map detailing routes and other useful information.
Group leaders planning to bring a large party may wish to arrange a date specific to their group. We can accommodate this, although flexibility of date would be useful.
The Tower of London reserves the right to move or cancel planned BSL interpreter dates at short notice, although we will endeavour to avoid this wherever possible.
