Projects and activities from the Tower of London's community programmes
Lady at work

What we offer

Over the last 14 years thousands of people in the local community have been involved with projects and events inspired by the Tower of London. Each year we organise a range of projects which involve working with people of all ages, as well as events which are either open to the public or for invited community groups. Our work focuses on engaging the boroughs nearest to our palaces.

If you are interested in your community group working with the Tower of London, e-mail outreachandcommunity@hrp.org.uk, although we unfortunately can’t guarantee to work with every group, owing to time, resources and strategic priorities – but please feel free to get in touch anyway!

Stories of the stones

The Imperial State Crown, worn by The Queen on State occasions such as the Opening of Parliament, contains thousands of stunning jewels. Many of these stones have fascinating stories - the sapphire which was given to a poor begger, the ruby worn by a king in battle, a diamond so big it stunned the world and many more...

Discover these stories in a wonderful storytelling session with master storyteller Diana Olutunmogun. Lasts approx. 45 minutes.

With bloodshed and cunning this huge diamond passed from person to person, and country to country for over 700 years, and today sits in the late Queen Mother’s crown.
