Danny Homan
Communications and Development Director
Historic Royal Palaces
Danny Homan joined Historic Royal Palaces as Marketing Director in 2000. This role was established in order to create a new, centralised marketing department, with the principal aims of broadening the income base of Historic Royal Palaces and increasing visitor numbers. Danny is responsible for the strategic development of all communications functions within the department including marketing and PR, business development and the new fundraising division. His title recently changed to Communications and Development Director to reflect this new fundraising team and the breadth of work undertaken by his department.
Danny has a solid background in leisure industry management. For five years prior to joining Historic Royal Palaces he was Sales and Marketing Director at Royal Ascot where he was responsible for creating a focused sales, marketing and public relations strategy for the racecourse. Prior to this he was Commercial Manager at the South Bank Centre, Europe’s largest arts centre, and Sponsorship and Events Manager at the British Film Institute.
He also sits on the British Tourism Development Committee which acts as a forum for discussion and representation to Government, BTA and other statutory tourist boards, public and private organisations, on all matters affecting the tourism industry in Great Britain.
