Tania Fitzgerald joined Historic Royal Palaces as Finance Director in June 2009 and is responsible for financial management and statutory reporting of both the charity Historic Royal Palaces and its wholly owned trading subsidiary Historic Royal Palaces Enterprises Limited.
Tania is responsible for giving a strategic lead in financial planning and control, critical for Historic Royal Palaces to achieve one of it’s key strategic objectives: “Generating the money to make it all possible”. This is in the region of £50 million a year in revenues from visitor income, retail, catering, functions and events and fundraising.
Tania started her career with British Airways as a Finance Graduate Trainee and progressed over five years to become Finance Manager for BA’s ground operations at Heathrow, having qualified as a Management Accountant. After two roles in commercial finance with Hasbro, toys and games and Britvic soft drinks, Tania joined Harrods Aviation and Air Harrods Limited as Finance Director, a role she held for six years.
Prior to joining HRP, Tania worked for Scope, a national disability charity, a move motivated by personal experience of disability. She spent over three years there as Finance Director and Project Sponsor for a major change programme that addressed all aspects of Scope’s financial infrastructure.
Tania is also Trustee for the Princess Royal Trust for Carers.
