My day… I look after four shops at the Hampton Court Palace. Every morning I brief with my staff to make sure they are ready to greet customers. Sometimes we have new products to learn about, so we can provide our customers with vital information for them to choose which memorable products they want to take home. I listen to my staff for their ideas and opinions, and we all work together to improve our service for our customers.
You need to be: Able to run business smoothly under pressure, to be constantly in communication with the Retail Department and other Historic Royal Palace Departments, and be able to support the team in any condition. Also you need to be able to think like a customer and provide them with swift and excellent service.
Previously I was… a Department Chief at Japanese Duty Free in London. My role was extended to being an Assistant to the main buyer for the shop and a Staff Trainer, which took me to Germany to help them set up a new shop.
