The textile collection (which doesn't include the Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection) includes soft furnishings and carpets.

Overview of the textile collection

The textile collection falls into five groups: firstly, nineteenth and twentieth century soft furnishings in some of the old Grace and Favour apartments. Secondly replica furnishings made for room displays. Thirdly Asian carpets from the nineteenth and twentieth century. Fourthly a few antique carpets. And lastly some significant other textiles in situ or in the collection.

Curtains

Curtains from Hampton Court Palace's Grace and Favour apartments are in the social history collection. For over 300 years Grace and Favour apartments were assigned to royalty, members of the aristocracy, those with military connections, diplomats, scientists, explorers and politicians.
