History study days

In association with the National Portrait Gallery

New for 2008-9 these sessions are based closely on AS and A2 level units. Students will take part in seminars at both the Tower and the National Portrait Gallery and benefit from their combined resources.

Subject areas available include: Henry VII, Mid-Tudor, Elizabethan, Tudor Century (synoptic study), Early Stuart, Civil War and the 17th century.

Talk and tour package


These talks will cover all the relevant areas of the OCR, AQA and Edexcel A-level specifications. Each talk is followed by a subject-specific tour of the Tower of London.

Available subjects:

History
Available sessions include the Normans (AQA – AS module 2, alternative M & OCR – F961) and the Wars of the Roses (OCR – F961/F965).

Literature
Sessions support the teaching of the Edexcel Anthology of Tudor and Elizabethan poetry, putting the poems of Thomas Wyatt, Elizabeth I, William Shakespeare, Christopher Marlowe and Walter Raleigh into historical context.
