Our bespoke history workshops cover all areas of Tower-relevant OCR, AQA and Edexcel A-level history specifications. Each workshop includes a subject-specific tour of the Tower of London. Sessions support the teaching of the Edexcel Anthology of Tudor and Elizabethan poetry, putting the poems of Thomas Wyatt, Elizabeth I, William Shakespeare, Christopher Marlowe and Walter Raleigh into historical context. Gothic Literature --THIS TYPE OF SESSION IS TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE-- This session links to English Literature AQA unit B, Elements of the Gothic. During the session, students will examine extracts from William Harrison Ainsworth's famous gothic novel, "The Tower of London". The session and on-site tour will encourage students to explore the gothic elements of the site, whilst hearing some of the Tower's darker stories.
