Hire a private guide
Institute of Tourist Guiding Level 2 qualified
What do you give the person who has everything (apart from Historic Royal Palaces Membership of course)?
How about a private in-depth guided tour of Hampton Court Palace with one of our Institute of Tourist Guiding Level 2 Hampton Court Palace Guides?
Guides need to be booked and paid for in advance - preferably two weeks in advance so that we can guarantee availability - but thanks to the wonder of credit cards we only need a few days notice unless you have a specific tour request that may require a specific guide.
Tours start at £110 + VAT (£132) for a 1½ hour tour. This is in addition to palace admission tickets.
So whether it’s someone with a love of history who has a ‘significant’ birthday coming up, a couple celebrating a special anniversary or a group of like-minded people who want to get the most from their visit, a private guided tour could be the answer.
What other experience could you buy the person who has everything that only costs £1.47 per minute (for a 1½ hour tour) regardless of the number of people in the group, so family and friends can come too?
Three of our Guides are also ITG qualified to offer tours in French, German or Italian and one of our Guides is Deaf and a native British Sign Language user. These tours are subject to the availability of the guide so early booking is a requirement.
Three of our Guides have historic costumes so you could book a costumed tour guide - although this does cost more and is subject to the availability of these two guides. They can only deliver tours in English.
We can also offer tours on a range of specialist subjects, and will always tailor the content to suit the needs of the group.

Weekend tours of the Barrack Block & Wren Studio
New for 2015! At weekends, our Hampton Court Palace Guides will be offering guided tours of the Barrack Block & Wren Studio. Now home to the ticket office and palace shop it was built as a Cavalry Barracks (with Foot Guards quartered at the other end) and is the now the oldest purpose-built Barracks in the UK. It was also in continuous military use for some 250 years. It is now part of our Clore Learning Centre.
Tours last about 45 mintues and cost £5 per adult and £2.50 per child (£4/£2 for members). They begin at 14:15 from the Unicorn in Bradbury Court. Tickets can be bought from the ticket office on the day. Palace or gardens-only admission tickets are not required as this tour is outside the pay barrier, but the cost is in addition to any other tickets.
