This drama-based historical enquiry session, delivered by a costumed presenter, offers pupils the opportunity to extend their chronological knowledge beyond 1066 by examining Queen Victoria's life at Kensington Palace.

Through object-handling, pupils will investigate Queen Victoria's daily routines and personal items to understand how our knowledge of the past is constructed from a range of sources.

The Changing Power of Kings and Queens

What would you do if you were a queen or king? Take a trip through time at Kensington Palace as you learn how the English monarchy has changed over the centuries in this interactive history session for KS2.

A costumed presenter will lead you through the lives of those who lived at Kensington Palace, including Queen Victoria, William and Mary, as well as many others. Together we will unravel the fascinating stories and mysteries that changed the royals forever! Designed to develop children’s chronological understanding of British history, this session covers a range of time frames that helps it to fit into any unit of study that explores the monarchy post-1066.
