Famous for leading his troops into battle George was the last monarch to do so in 1743 at the Battle of Dettingen.
George II had a terrible relationship with his son, Frederick Prince of Wales.
They quarrelled constantly, and Frederick, his wife and family were eventually banished from the court in 1737.
