Experience Days

Hampton Court Palace new experience days for yourself or as a gift for someone special

East Front, Hampton Court Palace

Historic Royal Palaces will give you an exclusive glimpse into what goes on at Hampton Court Palace, the Tudor palace, magnificently developed by Cardinal Wolsey and later Henry VIII, alongside a baroque palace built by William III and Mary II.  By buying any one of these experiences, participants will also be contributing to the valuable ongoing conservation work of one of the greatest palaces ever built.

Real Tennis: The Game of Kings (1 August 2013)

£125.00

The morning will be led by Nick Wood, the Royal Tennis Court’s Head Professional. It includes an introduction to the game followed by an hour of coaching and then the opportunity to implement your new skills whilst playing some games. Following the on court tennis, a practical workshop will be given on how to make the handmade tennis balls. The morning will be completed with lunch in the Royal Tennis Court dining room.

Glory of the Garden (22 August 2013)

£150.00

The morning will include learning about caring for the Great Vine (the largest in the world!) with the palace Vine Keeper and then enjoy an expert guided tour of our world renowned South Front and East Front gardens with our palace garden experts, looking at the creation and choice of the spectacular summer bedding schemes and combinations.

In the afternoon be taken on an expert guided tour of The Wilderness and Tiltyard and learn about the history of the palace gardens. This fabulous day ends with seeing the palace and gardens from the roof tops (subject to weather conditions) and if the weather is not good then you will be taken to the State Apartments to look out at the magnificent views of the gardens as once seen by the Kings and Queens who lived at the palace.
