Access and learning

There has never been a better or most exciting time to support Historic Royal Palaces’ education programme

Learning is at the heart of everything we do at Historic Royal Palaces, and major developments here mean there has never been a more exciting time to get involved.

Supporting education

In March 2012, thanks to the generous support of the Clore Duffield Foundation, we were able to provide for the first time ever a permanant home for learning at Kensington Palace, the new Clore Learning Centre.  These dedicated spaces allow us to offer 10,000 learners per annum the chance to benefit from HRP's education activity programmes.  In January 2007 at Hampton Court Palace, we opened the first Clore Learning Centre, one of the largest and most presitgious facilities of it's kind and again made possible by the generosity of the Clore Duffield Foundation.

Learning is at the heart of our cause and it underpins everything we do as an organisation.  Visiting the palaces in our care on educational visits is the best way for learners, from school students to adults, to explore the story of almost 1,000 years of history.  We continue to develop novel approaches to schools and integenerational outreach, building in new digital approaches and aiming at greater audience diversity and a sustainable legacy.

There are a number of ways you can support the delivery of an education programme that reaches 200,000 learners every year.  Our activities range from workshops in the Tudor Kitchens at Hampton Court Palace for primary school children and led by guides in period costume, to lectures, study days and summer schools for adults seeking new interests.
