Corporate Social Responsibility

"Inspiring young people, changing perspectives and raising their ambition. That's what HRP is doing for 3i. A great team effort that's delivering a high return on investment. What more could an investor want?" Patrick Dunne, Group Communications Director, 3i

Outreach and Community Involvement

HRP's Outreach and Community Involvement team exists to create opportunities to engage people who do not currently come to our palaces because of social, cultural, financial or physical reasons, particularly in the local areas around our palaces.

They work with audiences of all ages and abilities through talks, workshops, bespoke projects, special occasions and events.

Some of the community partners that the OCI team work with include: pupil referral units and local primary schools - both of whom helped enchant Kensington Palace; patients at hospitals including the Royal Kensington and Chelsea; and local residents including those from Tower Hamlets, one of the most deprived boroughs in London.

All of these activites help Historic Royal Palaces break down the barriers between people and the palaces allowing communities to explore the history of their areas in unthreateneing and enjoyable environments.

Education

We are one of the very largest providers of heritage education in the country reaching 130,000 learners per annum.

Our aim is to help everybody explore the stories of how monarchs and people shaped society in some of the greatest palaces ever built and learning is at the heart of everything we do.

Our education team provide a broad programme of activities across our three largest palaces - the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace and Kensington Palace - for both adults and children. We aslo run specialist workshops based on the National Curriculum across Key Stage 1, 2 and 3 as well as sessions for AS and A2 level units.

Support Us

By supporting Historic Royal Palaces we can help you to acheive your corporate social responsibility objectives in the following ways

Just some of the work taking place at Historic Royal Palaces that you can support includes:

Our past, our palace, our future - extending our reach

Our education strategy seeks to broaden the programmes we offer, to reach schools and children in communities that traditionally have had no relationship with the palaces.

This new strand of work is designed to extend our reach through forming partnerships with schools, connecting with the families of pupils and also creating a much larger online audience.

You might like to consider one or more of the following opportunities for support:

  • A partnership with a participating school
  • Free memberships for the families of pupils
  • The development of interpretation and digital assets and the production of new resources

Working for Life

Working for life is a skills training, work experience, apprenticeship and degree course scheme which aims to help young people with their future employability.

We offer a broad range of opportunities from job-seeker training and various transitional employment programmes, through to apprenticeships and NVQ's in Maintenance Works and Foundation Degrees in Historic Buidling Restoration.

All of the training or crafts on which the training is based form part of the Palaces' daily lives.
