During Spring 2012, Historic Royal Palaces launched their first international Lecture Tour to the United States of America with Tracy Borman, Author & Historian and Yeoman Warder of the Tower, Peter McGowran.
The first series of events began in Atlanta in partnership with the English Speaking Union. The audiences were delighted by Tracy's presentation on the themes of royal celebrations, pageantry, weddings and jubilees, which complimented the multiple festivities of the year back in the UK, i.e. HM The Queen's Diamond Jubilee, the Olympics and Paralympics.
In the meantime, Yeoman Warder, Peter McGowran spoke of royal celebrations and life as a beefeater at the Tower of London over in Dallas.
Overall the series of lectures was a triumphant success and we would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to those involved: The English Speaking Union of the United States, The Veteran Corps of Artillery of the State of New York, Visit Britain, The Daughters of the British Empire in the State of New York, Hearst Corporation, The British American Commerce Association of Dallas - Fort Worth, St George's Society of New York, The Directors of Historic Royal Palaces Inc (USA)..and many other friends and colleagues both in the UK and the USA.
