There are many projects that represent Historic Royal Palaces’ key principles of Guardianship, Discovery, Showmanship and Independence and these would not have been possible without support from individuals.

These projects have included:

  • The restoration and representation of Kew Palace
  • The Learning Centre and the Long Water project at Hampton Court Palace
  • The Tower Environs scheme

Forthcoming projects for which every donation is vital include:

  • The re-presentation of Kensington Palace
  • The cleaning and repair of the White Tower at the Tower of London
  • The conservation of Tudor tapestries and other textiles at Hampton Court Palace
  • Education projects across all five palaces

The future

We have numerous projects planned for the next period in our history from innovative learning programmes through to major capital developments.  All such projects represent an opportunity for you to make a real difference and become involved in a unique and exciting element of Historic Royal Palaces’ life.

Tax effective giving

Thanks to the Chancellor of the Exchequer’s recent changes to the tax laws concerning charitable giving, there has never been a better time to make a gift.

Gift Aid made easy

The Gift Aid Scheme has been made much more user-friendly for the average donor with the abolition of the minimum donation requirement.

  • If you are a basic or higher rate UK taxpayer, the Gift Aid Scheme allows us to reclaim a further 28p on every £1 you donate to us. This really boosts our income – and doesn’t cost you a single penny extra!
  • If you are a higher rate taxpayer, you can receive tax relief of the difference between the standard and higher rates of income tax (currently 18%). This means that your donation of £1,000 will generate a tax rebate of £231, meaning your donation will therefore only cost you £769, and will be worth £1,282 for Historic Royal Palaces.

All you have to do to enable us to claim the tax back from the Inland Revenue is to sign the Gift Aid declaration (opens as a PDF) and return it to Historic Royal Palaces.
