Why do I have to pay the Kew Gardens entry fee to get to Kew Palace?
Historic Royal Palaces only manage the building and its footprint. The gardens in the immediate environs of the palace and the surrounding Kew Gardens continue to be managed by a separate organisation - the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.  Due to the strict Gift Aid laws imposed by HMRC, we are restricted by the amount of benefits we are able to give to members and the monetary value thereof.  Under these provisions we are unable to give Historic Royal Palaces members free entry to Kew Gardens.

We do include a statement about the Kew Palace admissions as a caveat and it is on all of the membership literature ‘Entrance to Kew Palace is free as part of the membership subscription. However entrance to Kew Gardens is not included and must be paid for at the published rates’.

Please note that Kew Palace is seasonal and open for 6 months of the year.  It re-opens 2nd April 2012.

Can I use Tesco Vouchers?
You can only exchange your Tesco Vouchers to Tesco Days Out Tokens.  You can then buy a day entry ticket to the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace or Kensington Palace.  At the end of your visit to the palace of your choice you can then upgrade the tickets towards the membership cost.  Please see Membership upgrades  for more information on upgrades.  Please note that Tesco Vouchers can't be used for the full cost of the membership.
