Support from Trusts and Foundations is crucial to Historic Royal Palaces achieving its charitable objective: to help everyone explore the story of how monarchs and people have shaped society, in some of the greatest palaces ever built.
Without support, we could not undertake the major capital projects which improve our services and help us have wider impact on the world, including, most recently, the £12 million re-presentation of Kensington Palace.
Grant-makers also help us to give the palaces the care they deserve by supporting conservation projects as well as helping us to inspire learners through education and outreach programmes.
Forthcoming projects for which we would welcome engagement with and support from Trusts and Foundations include:
- The 'other' Hampton Court through a re-presentation of the Baroque Palace;
- A unique new play garden for families - The Magic Garden - inspired by Hampton Court's stories;
- The completion of our vision for Kensington Palace, with new re-presentations of the King's and Queen's State Apartments and a rolling programme of exhibitions in the Pigott Galleries;
- The conservation and re-presentation of the magnificent Banqueting House, the only remaining component of the Palace of Whitehall;
- The transformation of our work in the fields of Conservation and Collections Care;
- Presenting the Tower as London's great fortress, brought to life in its wall walks, drawbridges and portcullises;
- The continued development of our vision for learning at the palaces, focusing on educating and inspiring in innovative ways, whilst ensuring through our Outreach and Community involvement team that our heritage is accessible to all.
