Member events at the Tower of London

Tower of London 

Ceremony of the Keys
Dates: 16 April (fully booked) 21 May and 18 June, starting promptly at 21.30 
Price: The event is free but we ask for a donation of £5 on the night towards conservation costs.
The Ceremony of the Keys is the traditional locking up of the Tower of London and has taken place on each and every night, without fail, for at least 700 years. We have a very limited allocation of places so book early to secure your place. Please be there promptly at 21.30 as latecomers will not be admitted. This event is held entirely outside so please wrap up warm and weather-proof.

New Member tours of the Tower of London
Dates: 6 and 16 April, 1 and 14 May, 4 and 18 June starting at 17.45
Price: FREE for new members (suitable for children of all ages)
If you have recently joined as a member but not yet had the chance to visit the Tower of London why not come along to one of the ‘New Member tours’? Each tour is taken by one of our iconic Yeoman Warders and really gives you an expert’s guide of what there is to see and do. The tours are free and although advertised to new members, if you have missed out on the Tower of London experience then please feel free to book onto one of these excellent tours.

Member luncheons in the Perkin Reveller, hosted by Jascots Wine Merchant
Dates: 11 May and 29 June starting at 12noon
Price: £45 for a three course lunch and accompanying wines.
These lunches are hosted by an expert from Jascots wine merchants to ensure the menu and the wines match perfectly. Come on your own or in a group to get to know more about food and wine pairing.

White Tower tours
Date: 22 May, doors open 18.15 for a 18.30 start
Price: £15 including refreshments
The White Tower is one of the most famous castle keeps in the world. It was built to awe, subdue and terrify Londoners and to deter foreign invaders. It’s an iconic symbol of London and Britain. This is your chance to see the Line of Kings and St John’s Chapel after hours with a White Tower guide. The tour will be followed by a drinks reception.

Anne Boleyn: A King’s Obsession with Alison Weir
Date: 17 May, doors open at 18.30 starting at 19.00

Come and hear bestselling author and one of Historic Royal Palaces’ most celebrated supporters, Alison Weir, talking about the second in her six book series about each of King Henry VIII’s wives. In Alison’s latest book she recounts one of the most sensational episodes in English history, revealing a courageous, determined woman on a headlong course to tragedy. Be prepared for your perceptions to be challenged. The Tower of London is the perfect setting for this talk, we hope to see you there.

Members-only viewing of the Crown Jewels
Dates: 24 July, doors open at 18.30 for a 19.00 start
Price: £30 including refreshments
The Crown Jewels, part of the Royal Collection, are the most powerful symbols of the British monarchy and hold deep religious and cultural significance in our nation’s history. Come and see the jewels away from the crowds and enjoy a behind-the scenes look at a unique working collection of royal regalia, which is still used by The Queen in important national ceremonies, such as the annual State Opening of Parliament.

Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment rehearsals
We are delighted to be able to offer the following two Open Rehearsals to HRP members. They are very different programmes and fall in the first and second half of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment’s (OAE) season. Places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Open Rehearsal: Faust and the Mozart Concertos (sold out)

International star violinist Isabelle Faust wowed audiences in her “Look! No Conductor!” concert in 2012. She’s back for more with a double dose of Mozart at this concert. Isabelle also explores a Haydn symphony, La passione, with a lightness of touch and emotional depth that make for compelling listening. Come and join us for one of the final Open Rehearsals of the season at OAE residency: The Royal Festival Hall.
