Back by popular demand following 2017’s sell-out show…

Join us for an unforgettable adult evening - exploring the stories of King James I and the male favourites who wielded their influence in the political sphere as well as within the King’s bedchamber. Featuring live performance, talks, demonstrations, music and drinking.

"The new King is – yes daughters – a bit of a queen..."

The evening’s highlight will be a ‘Jacobean drag-show in Polari’ - co-devised by performance artist Scottee and playwright Mark Ravenhill, performed by leading queer cabaret and performance artists including Ginger Johnson and Lasana Shabazz.

The evening will also feature:

  • Live performances by Liam Byrne (Viola da Gamba);
  • Period ‘make-up for men’ demonstrations by Sally Pointer;
  • Curator talks on catching the King’s eye;
  • DJ sets by _remix (Baroque Remix /Benjamin Tassie) and Craig White

Cash bar and refreshments will be available.
