Final Open Day

Visit Banqueting House for our Final Open Day on Sunday 19 May before the palace closes for essential conservation and maintenance work. The palace is the sole survivor of the lost royal Palace of Whitehall, once the home of the archbishops of York and, later, Henry VIII.

Designed by Baroque architect, Inigo Jones, the building also houses the magnificent Ruben’s ceiling and was the execution site of Charles I.

Experience the final time Banqueting House opens to the public and discover four centuries of art, architecture and history in one building. Explore The Undercroft, used by James I, and the admire the incredible works of Art and Sculpture around the palace.

Ticketing information

General admission £5, members go free.

Pre-booking is essential for both members and non-members. Members will be required to present a valid membership card upon entry.
