About this session

Key Stage 1 | Subject: Maths, History | Topics: Tudors | Session Type: Route-based, Classroom-based

Led by a costumed presenter, children will explore the Tudor route at Hampton Court finding out about the daily lives of servants and nobility in the royal household of King Henry VIII - solving maths problems along the way.

Pitched at a mixed ability level, children will have the opportunity to extend their maths skills further through group work and individual challenges.

Learning objectives

Children will:

  • Develop skills of historical enquiry using Hampton Court Palace as source material.
  • Use known maths skills to solve problems.
  • Understand the importance of Maths in everyday life and that it was also used in the past.
