Meet a member of the Tudor household and solve a real life Tudor Maths problem!

Led by a costumed presenter, children will explore the Tudor route at Hampton Court finding out about the daily lives of servants and nobility in the royal household of King Henry VIII - solving Maths problems along the way.

Pitched at a mixed ability level, pupils will have the opportunity to extend their maths skills further through group work and individual challenges.

Learning Objectives

Children will:

  • Develop skills of historical enquiry using Hampton Court Palace as source material.
  • Use known Maths skills to solve problems.
  • Understand the importance of Maths in everyday life and that it was also used in the past.

This session supports:

  • Encouraging problem solving and mathematical thinking within a historical context.
  • Focusing on number; geometry; and measurement.
