Chief Curator Lucy Worsley is joined by former Historic Royal Palaces curator Eleri Lynn to explore the dazzling world of Tudor fashion. An expert in historic dress, and former curator of the Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection – a treasure trove of over 10,000 items of royal and court dress housed at Hampton Court Palace – in this one hour talk Eleri will explore what the wardrobes of Henry VIII’s six wives reveal about the lives and personalities of these iconic Queens, and what she learnt about this important period in British fashion while researching her book Tudor Textiles.
Lucy and Eleri will also be joined by Kate Harris, volunteer in the curators’ team at Hampton Court, who will bring us up to date with news of what’s going on behind the scenes in the Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection.
This event is free to join, but we ask you to consider making a donation of £10 or whatever you can afford.
Historic Royal Palaces is a self-funding charity, and the Coronavirus pandemic has had a devastating impact on us. We experienced a £100 million shortfall in our finances over the last year, so if you love the palaces and believe in what we do, we have never needed your support more.
Historic Royal Palaces is registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales (Registered Charity No. 1068852).
