For the Victorians, Christmas ghost stories became an essential custom of the season.

Join us for an atmospheric, candle-lit experience of the Castle with a special reading of ghost stories in the Throne Room by internationally acclaimed actor Ian McElhinney.

Ian McElhinney is an actor and director from Northern Ireland. He has appeared in many theatre, film and television productions in a critically acclaimed career spanning more than thirty years; notable appearances include Taggart, Hornblower, Cold Feet and The Tudors. In recent times his best known roles are in Game of Thrones, The Fall, Derry Girls and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Throne Room with silk green damask walls, wooden floor and large rug. Two red and gold Chairs of State, or 'thrones' are situated at the far end of the room. Gold-framed paintings of landscapes adorn the walls and three large chandeliers hang above.
