Additional information for the event
This event is aimed at all ages and families.
We cannot let children (under 16 years old) attend the event without the supervision of an accompanying adult.
Yes you can!
The walk through the gardens will last approximately 25 minutes, finishing at the Stable Yard where there will be a complimentary hot beverage and additional entertainment.
There is then a further 15-20 minute walk back to the exit and car park.
Subject to availability, we will endeavour to move to you a later time, but please note the last available walk commences at 20:30. There will be no admissions after this time.
This is a separate ticketed event, so you will have to purchase an additional ticket for the Fire & Light Wild Raven Walk. The site will close to gardens and castle tour ticket holders at 16:00.
If it rains the event will go ahead. The event will only be cancelled if the weather conditions present a danger.
In the unlikely event that the event is cancelled, we will aim to give as much notice as possible, so please check the website for information if the weather looks poor.
Please dress appropriately for weather conditions on the evening as this is an outdoor event at night, and there is a considerable amount of walking on sometimes uneven and steep ground.
There is no cover available in the event of rain. Also please note that the ground may be damp so waterproof shoes might be preferable.
Yes, the restaurant in the Western Pavilion will be open and providing special offers for ticket holders. Complimentary hot drinks will be served at the Stable Yard.
Yes, pushchairs are welcome at the event. But please note the paths can be uneven and steep in places.
Baby changing facilities are available in both the male and female toilets in the Pineapple Yard, Garden Toilets and Stable Yard.
No, the people mover will stop running when the gardens close to the public at 16:00.

Yes, there will be some sound effects and flashing lights occurring during the event.
You are welcome to take photographs and video providing these are for personal use. You are also encouraged to share your photos of the night using #HillsboroughHalloween.
Only registered and recognisable assistance, service or guide dogs are allowed inside Hillsborough Castle and Gardens.
There is no smoking or e-cigarette use/vaping anywhere within Hillsborough Castle and Gardens.
Free car parking is available on site and is accessible via the A1. For the car park, please follow the brown tourist signs on the A1 south to our sign-posted car park entrance.
Car park opening hours during the Fire & Light Wild Raven Walk are 09:30-22:00.
It is not possible to access the Hillsborough Castle and Gardens car park via the entrance on Main Street in Hillsborough Village.
You can attend both events, but we would recommend you start the Wild Raven Walk by at least 18:00.
The walk will finish at the Stable Yard, which is adjacent to the State Entrance for the Return of HERCAT commencing at 19.00 sharp.
