We would like to thank you wholeheartedly for your support at this time. Your generosity enables us to continue our vital work so that when you return, our palaces will be in the best possible condition for you to visit.

The COVID-19 pandemic has meant that donations from members like you have never been more important in keeping the spirit of the palaces alive. We are facing a £100 million shortfall in our finances and put in its starkest terms, we desperately need the help of our supporters where it can be given.

Although our palaces are currently closed, they still need to be looked after so that we can all continue to enjoy them, both now and into the future.

To ensure that every visit is as safe as it can be, the way in which we welcome visitors to our sites has changed.

We appreciate that you may have some queries about your membership, as well as how you will be able to visit our sites safely. We hope to address any queries here.

Visiting the Palaces as a Member

Palace Opening Queries

When are the palaces open?

In line with the latest Government guidance, the Tower of London, Kensington Palace and the interiors of Hampton Court Palace are currently closed. They will reopen when it is safe to do so.

The gardens at Hampton Court Palace and Hillsborough Castle are open for local members and pre-booked ticket holders to take exercise. 

At this time, palace opening hours and days are subject to change according to local and national restrictions. You can find the latest information by clicking on the relevant palace at the top of this page, and selecting 'Opening Times'.

 

Will my visit be safe?

The safety of our visitors and staff will always be our priority during this time. We will be offering you a very warm welcome as always, but have introduced some new ways of doing things. For example, there will be fewer people at our sites at any one time and we're paying extra attention to hygiene.

All visitors will need to book a timeslot to visit, including members. Visitors must wear a face covering in our indoor spaces. We're confident that with these additional measures, you're going to have a safe and enjoyable time.

Booking Free Member Tickets to Visit

All visits must be booked in advance through our website. We will not be able to permit entry without a booked ticket.

At this time we are unable to provide a telephone booking service.

If you would like to book a visit as a member, follow the instructions below:

  1. Log in via the Member Login button at the top of the website homepage (www.hrp.org.uk), using your membership number and surname
  2. Once logged in, under ‘Booking tickets after you’ve logged in’, select the palace you wish to visit
  3. Select the date and timeslot you wish to visit
  4. Select the number of Member tickets required - these will have a value of £0.00. You can also add any non-member tickets if necessary. Click ‘Next’
  5. Check the date, time, palace and ticket numbers are correct, then click ‘Next’ again
  6. Enter your details on the final page and click ‘Pay now’ – this will not charge you if you have booked member tickets only, but you will be taken to a payment screen if you have booked non-member tickets as well
  7. You should then see a booking confirmation page, and receive an email shortly afterwards with the same information

Ticket booking queries

I am a current member and I cannot log in

If you are experiencing difficulty logging in to book member tickets, please try entering a space after your surname.

If the problem persists, please contact our team by emailing [email protected] with your membership number so that it can be investigated.

I have just purchased a membership on the website and I cannot log in

When a membership is purchased through our website, your application will be manually processed in order to generate a membership number.

Please email [email protected] with your booking reference number, and your membership number will be provided within 72 hours.

Do I need to print out my tickets?

If you do not have access to a printer, you can show your booking confirmation on your smartphone or electronic device to our front of house team, along with your membership card.

I have a child under 5. Do I need to book a ticket for them?

Children under 5 do not require a ticket to be booked, and can enter when accompanied by an adult.

I have a carer. How do I book a ticket for them?

To book a carer ticket, we would recommend reserving an additional ticket under the ‘Member’ option when booking. This will allow you and your carer entry.
