The COVID-19 pandemic has meant that donations from members like you have never been more important in keeping the spirit of the palaces alive.

To ensure that every visit is as safe as it can be, the way in which we welcome visitors to our sites has changed.

We appreciate that you may have some queries about your membership, as well as how you will be able to visit our sites safely.

When are the palaces open?

You can find our opening times within each palace page on the website.

Will my visit be safe?

We will continue to manage visitor numbers so our sites remain safe places to visit.

To guarantee entry we ask members and visitors to pre-book tickets and timed entry slots in advance. 

In line with government guidelines, we advise wearing a face covering in our indoor spaces, shops and crowded places unless exempt. We recommend visitors continue to maintain a respectful distance from staff and other visitors not in their group. Please continue to show courtesy and consideration for other people visiting the Palaces. 


Keeping you Safe

Booking free Member tickets to visit

We recommend members book free tickets to visit through our website. 

If you would like to book a visit as a member, follow the instructions below:

  1. Log in via the Member Login button at the top of the website homepage (, using your membership number and surname
  2. Once logged in, under ‘Booking tickets after you’ve logged in’, select the palace you wish to visit
  3. Select the date and timeslot you wish to visit
  4. Select the number of Member tickets required - these will have a value of £0.00. You can also add any non-member tickets if necessary. Click ‘Next’
  5. Check the date, time, palace and ticket numbers are correct, then click ‘Next’ again
  6. Enter your details on the final page and click ‘Pay now’ – this will not charge you if you have booked member tickets only, but you will be taken to a payment screen if you have booked non-member tickets as well
  7. You should then see a booking confirmation page, and receive an email shortly afterwards with the same information

Ticket booking queries

I am an existing member and I cannot log in.

If you are experiencing difficulty logging in to book member tickets, please try entering a space after your surname.

If the problem persists, please contact our team by emailing [email protected] with your membership number so that it can be investigated.

I have just purchased a membership on the website and I cannot log in to book a visit.

If you wish to visit immediately after purchasing a membership and do not yet have your number, you can visit the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace or Hillsborough Castle and Gardens immediately by showing your membership confirmation email on entry.

Do I need to print out my tickets?

You can show your ticket booking confirmation on your smartphone or electronic device to our front of house team, along with your membership card.

I have a child under 5. Do I need to book a ticket for them?

Children under 5 do not require a ticket to be booked, and can enter when accompanied by an adult.

I have a carer. How do I book a ticket for them?

To book a carer ticket, we would recommend reserving an additional ticket under the ‘Member’ option when booking. This will allow you and your carer entry.
