Study Day

Explore the history of board, dice and card games that were played in the British court and the Royal palaces. This study day will give you the opportunity to work with games designers to make your own games based on the historic rule sets.

Session 1: Discover the history of games with Holly Neilson (freelance video game journalist and presenter for Sky News and Ginx TV @nielsen_holly)

Session 2: Look at examples of history games used at our royal palaces and have a go at following the historic rules.

Session 3: Design your own game using historic templates in a workshop

Please note, lunch is not included.

Due to the historic nature of the site, not all areas are wheelchair accessible. Please email learning.info@hrp.org.uk to find out more information before booking.
