Take part in events that followed the failed Gunpowder Plot of 1605!

Using role play and questioning, children will interrogate characters who played a key part in the story and help King James I gather the information he needs to bring the plotters to justice.

This experience is suitable for both KS1 and KS2 groups and involves scheduled slots with costumed characters, followed by a short performance.

Learning objectives
Children will:

  • Play a part in one of the Tower’s most infamous stories
  • Interrogate evidence and question the reliability of different sources of information
  • Learn about the story of the Gunpowder Plot, and the Tower’s role in it.

National Curriculum links
This session supports:

  • Extending chronological knowledge of significant events in British history beyond 1066.
  • Constructing informed responses that involve thoughtful selection and organisation of relevant historical information
  • Development of speaking and listening skills and asking perceptive questions.

 

 

Booking information

Availability
This experience is available for one week only from Monday 4th to Friday 8th November 2019.

There are five sessions per day: 11:00, 11:20, 11:40, 12:00 and 12:20.

Please let us know your estimated arrival time so that we can book the first available session.

Duration
All groups complete the experience together with a final performance ending at 13:50.

Capacity
35 students per session. Larger groups will be split across two sessions.
