Your students will be immersed in a narrative experience revealed by three different costumed characters involved in the infamous Gunpowder Plot of 1605. Through drama and role play, questioning and interrogation of evidence, students will develop their historical enquiry skills and uncover the facts behind one of the Tower’s most famous stories.

Learning objectives
Children will:

  • Play a part in one of the Tower’s most infamous stories
  • Interrogate evidence and question the reliability of different sources of information
  • Learn about the story of the Gunpowder Plot, and the Tower’s role in it.

National Curriculum links
This session supports:

  • Extending chronological knowledge of significant events in British history beyond 1066.
  • Constructing informed responses that involve thoughtful selection and organisation of relevant historical information
  • Development of speaking and listening skills and asking perceptive questions.

Booking information

This experience is available for one week only from Monday 15th to Friday 19th October 2018.

There are five sessions per day: 11:00, 11:20, 11:40, 12:00 and 12:20.

Please let us know your estimated arrival time so that we can book the first available session.

All groups complete the experience together with a final performance ending at 13:50.

35 students per session. Larger groups will be split across two sessions.
