Anne Boleyn ‘the most happy’

About this session

SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) | Subject: History | Topics: Tudors | Session Type: Object-Handling

What was life at the Tower like during the reign of King Henry VIII? How would the Tudor court have prepared for a royal coronation?

During this interactive session, pupils will discover what it was like to be a courtier at the Tower and will get ready for the arrival of Queen Anne Boleyn.

This session is based partly in a classroom and partly on route in the palace. It will provide pupils with the opportunity to explore new environments and to develop their social and emotional skills through:

• Rhymes and songs about the site.
• Props and costumes.
• A Tudor jewellery-making activity.
• Tudor character ‘hot seat’ activity.

This session is suitable for pupils with MLD and SLD, aged between 6 and 16 years, who attend special schools or units.

You will also have the opportunity to make a request for the presenter to be in costume, should this be appropriate.
